ifixit.com

Have you ever shattered your Iphone screen or wanted to fix anything else you or a friend own. Well on ifixit.com you can find out how to fix everything from a broken iphone screen to a Gibson guitar. My friend uses this website all the time to fix random Iphone issues that come up. This site is extremely easy to use and if you have the time and equipment you can use this site to help with repairs that you would have to pay hundreds of dollars to get done by a professional.

howstuffworks.com

I didn't know that class website has the link of it. howstuffworks.com is the website that shows how many things such as nature, science experiments, technology and so on work. For example, if you want to know how volcano works, there is an article for that. There are also popular videos that are selected from TV such as discovery channel, history channel and so forth. If you want to know about car engine, there is tons of videos for that. Moreover, this website talks about topics related to this course. There is how to do a good PowerPoint presentation, and the future of the internet. There is health section that help people to understand medical stuff. For fun, there is also a quiz section related to topics in this websites. Additionally, each section has the link of famous blogs related to that section.

Basically, I think that this website is very helpful for everyone. It gives tons of information that people might be curious about. In the world, you can find every information on the internet, but because this website gives many different ways of information, this is very helpful

Storify

Storify.com can be used a tool for journalists and bloggers who are writing about topics that have captured the attention of people who use social media. It aggregates tweets, facebook posts and foursquare updates that have to do with specific subjects. For example I can use my account to search tweets that have the words "leaked cables." I can pull out the quotes I like onto my storyboard where I can add my own text to my piece. Storify also collects the latest news stories on the topic so I can pull in links to these as well.

The video on the website's homepage explains the idea of the site well. The site requires a users to create an account. It asks you to provide a website where your work can be read, so I'm not sure if non-writers might be rejected from using the service. I think the site is a good tool for anyone, not only writers, because it aggregates information from so many different sources in a clear and user-friendly way.

A Life On Facebook

Today I showed everyone a YouTube video titled "A Life on Facebook." It was created by CG artist Maxime Luère and follows the life of Alex Droner from teenage years through his life and ultimately his death. I thought it was really neat because many people do not realize how much of their actual lives are projected onto Facebook, but if you were to stalk someone long enough, you could essentially know their life story.

Information is Beautiful starter

I showed a website called Information is Beautiful and it has a lot of visual displays of data and other cool things that are fun to browse through.
